I think its a personal preference. Rarely to I find a person who honestly likes both styles equally.

I actually liked the animation/art of WoW, as I thought it had a lot of artistic flavor that I found easy to get immersed in. Sometimes with more realistic graphics I just feel I'm playing a computer game, and not experiencing another world, which is only an important factor in MMOs.

I guess I'm one of those people that look past the ruff edges, and just grade graphics on the general feeling I get from them. I'm not looking for a one-to-one correlation between game-world graphics and real life. In fact, I think I actually prefer they be different.
