Wow, really odd indeed...
First, when crysis loads, and stops at 41%, check windows manager, and see if there are any application errors at that point. (perhaps something related to a graphics driver).
It freezes at EXACTLY 41% every time, and you have installed the game on different hard drives with the EXACT same result?
