Just found out a cool tidbit of info for boosting up boot times on a Vista computer with at least a dual core processor.
Go to the 'start search' bar and look up 'msconfig'.
Once the window is open go to the boot tab, then advanced options.
One of the options will be 'Number of processors'. Click the box next to it and change from 1 to 2 or 4 (dual- or quad-core) and then just press the ok button twice. Boom, faster boot times!
