Some information to help clarify the site, how it works, and it's functions.

Warhammer: Road to WAR Guide
The "How to Play" Section is quite helpful, if you want to learn how the site works yourself.

Registration and Setup
If you have a Warhammer Online Beta Center account, use the first link. The dialog will ask you for credentials. Use the email address and password associated with your Beta Center account. Enter the email address of the person who referred you, if you wish to: listing someone will give them 500 victory points and 500 gold to spend for their realm. Choose the realm and race you wish to represent: it doesn't have to be the one you are planning to play, but whichever realm wins the Road to WAR will be given in-game rewards. [Being a member of the realm that prevails on the Road to WAR will not yield you any rewards in-game unless it is the same realm you decide to play as: choose the realm you wish to fight for, not just the one you think will win.]

If you don't have a Beta Center account, use the second link to create an account to use on the Road to WAR.

After you register (check your email for a confirmation link if prompted during registration), you can drag your pin to the location you live in (or wish to fight as part of). The pin starts in the Pacific Ocean, near Hawaii, or you can click the "Find Me" button if you are lost. You must "Submit" the location the first time you place it: once placed, your location cannot be moved.

Using the Map
Using the map is similar to using Google Maps and similar online mapping and directions resources. Click and drag on the map to pan, and use the bar in the upper left to zoom in and out. To zoom, you can either click the "+" and "-" finials, or click and drag on the zoom level indicator bar. The upper right contains the toggle buttons for a few options, the "Find Me" button (which resets your view to your pin's location), and a filter for race (in case you want to see where the members of your race are basing their operations from).

Victory Points and Gold
Victory Points represent the cumulative amount of Gold a player has earned on the Road to WAR, plus any direct Victory Points earned from participating in and prevailing in Battles. The 10 players for each realm that have the highest amount of Victory Points appear on the Leaderboard.

Gold is the primary method to win battles and determine the who is winning in a region. The amount of Gold you currently have is shown as the War Chest amount, located below your Victory Points. Gold in your War Chest is part of your region's points.

Allocating Gold
To allocate Gold and help determine the current leader in a state, you must allocate Gold to that state. You can allocate any amount of gold up to the amount you have in your War Chest by using the form below your War Chest. Type in the amount, select the region you would like to allocate to for your realm, and then click the red arrow to allocate that amount. In order to update your War Chest, either click on another tab of the website (such as "Battles") and then back to the "Home" tab to see the updated War Chest amount. You can also refresh the page.

To "allocate" gold to your own region, simply leave it in your War Chest.

The Battles

DAVID AND GOLIATH July 28—August 5 The armies have been formed, the bloodlust is palpable, and the stage is set for the first battle on the Road to WAR. The battle this week features the goliath state of Texas and the diminutive state of Rhode Island. If Texas represents brute strength then Rhode Island represents cunning—and your Realm will need both as they trap and butcher their enemies in the struggle for absolute power. Both Order and Destruction must gather reinforcements to take power over Rhode Island and Texas. If you live in one of these two states then recruit to bolster your numbers. If you live elsewhere, earn Gold and donate to the cause. The Realm that can take control of both states will have a crucial advantage in this vicious and inequitable battle.

Battle Objectives: Take Control of both Rhode Island and Texas. Recruit soldiers.
States in Play: Rhode Island and Texas (but all states may play)
How to Win: Victory will go to the Realm that has won both Rhode Island and Texas.
Victory Points: 1000 Victory Points to all battle participants in the winning Realm.
Bonus Victory Points: 500 Victory Points to the top 50 players who allocate the most Gold to Rhode Island and Texas, regardless of Realm.
Battles are themed events lasting a few days that represent the smaller fights on the Road to WAR. The first Battle, David and Goliath, is between Rhode Island and Texas. The goal of this particular battle is for one realm to control both regions before the Battle ends. [It's unclear on how exactly a winner is determined (in the event of a tie, etc.), but the status of the Battle in each region can be shown by clicking on the state.]

The victorious realm of each Battle will be awarded a Road to WAR trophy, as well as a cache of Victory Points.

Any player participating in a Battle is able to win Bonus Victory Points by completing the "Bonus Victory Points" requirements, which will be outlined in the Battle objectives.

Current Methods of Earning Gold
1. Sign Up - When you register for the Road to WAR game, you will be given 500 Gold as a signing bonus so you can immediately participate in that week's challenge.
This is the 500 Gold you begin with.

2. Recruit a Friend - All along the Road to WAR you should be actively enlisting your fellow crusaders to sign up and play the game. When your friend registers, they should specify that you recruited them by entering your email address in the "Recruited by" field and you will be awarded 500 Gold.
Recruit your friends, either by having them list your email address when they register, or by sending them an email using the upper-right-most form of the website. It doesn't matter which realm they choose to be; you will still be granted your gold.

3. Check In - Show your loyalty and participate in a daily roll call for your Realm. You will be awarded 50 Gold for each day that you log into the Road to WAR site.
Each day [after the day you registered], you will be given 50 Gold for visiting the site and logging in.

4. Raise Your Voice (Polls) - You can express your opinions or answer trivia questions by voting in the Daily Poll. Each day you vote, you get 100 Gold.
A simple click per day in the bottom right of the main page is all you need to get your 100 Gold per day.

Methods of Earning Gold
5. Host Embeddables - Place Road to WAR's embeddable content on your website or Facebook page and when a registered player of Road to WAR comes to your site and interacts with the Poll widget, a head, or Kill Drill widget, you will be awarded Gold, too.
When a player votes in the Poll from your site, they will get 100 Gold, and you will as well. By placing heads on your site, players finding them will get Gold and a trophy for their Road to WAR trophy case, and you will get additional gold. Finally, by having a player sign up using a link on the leaderboard module, you will gain additional Gold for "recruiting" them.


"Random" Methods of Earning Gold
6. Quest for Gold
Throughout the campaign there will be Gold Quests on the Road to WAR. Gold Quests may be for individual players or Realm-wide. These Quests offer you a chance to build up your War Chests by participating in both offline and online activities. The amount of Gold awarded varies from Quest to Quest.
The "Gold Quests" are the items shown on the "Featured" tab of the "Earn More Gold" section.


7. Receive a Gift from the Gods - Anytime you do something in the Warhammer Online universe deemed worthy, the Gods at Mythic may award you with whatever Gold he sees fit. For example Gold could be awarded for excellent fan art, outstanding fan fiction, or fan-developed mini-games. The amount of Gold given will be at the discretion of the Gods. Check your History to see if you were rewarded for your efforts.

8. Redeem Gold Codes - At any time players can visit the Road to WAR site to redeem their codes for Gold. These could be codes found in print advertising, or codes presented to players at events where Warhammer Online is present. July Newsletter Association Code
One of the current Gold Quests says to enter an association code from July's newsletter into the Beta Center. We're hopefully getting the newsletter tomorrow, so when you do, enter the code for your favored realm into the Beta Center as an association code. The members of the realm that wins this "vote" will be granted 100 Gold each.
