I'm going to take a guess here but, there may be something of a chemical imbalance in her eye that may take thin layers of the Comea (The transparent lineing of the eye) and mix it with the tear ducts liquid forming the "crystal". Growing crystals is a slow and careful process because the crystals grow by adding single layers of molecules. The layers of molecules may be very small layers of the comea lineing up, therefor causeing the formation of the crystal. Also with the tempeture of the body at 96.8 degree's (F) it can speed up that process, and makeing 7 a day possible. To tell you the truth if I am right, then she is going to be in alot of pain once the layers of the Comea are gone. And for those of you wondering why it wouldn't hurt, it would be because the Comea would be used to the texture of the Comea Crystal (Haha I made a rhyme)
It may also be that she has a fake eye, all she would have to do is put the crystal on the sides of her eye and force it out with the muscles in her eyes. This could be possible with a lot of practice.
