When you invade the enemy city it's in an instanced scenario. I'm guessing that means that the AH, bank, etc. will not be affected at all by the raid and will be seperate from it.
Also, as Thundar said, the guards grow steadily stronger, and it's my understanding that once EVERY player is forced out the event completely resets.
