For those of you that enjoyed the Wheel of Time Series and Song of Fire and Ice, I have a great series for you.

The Runelords by David Farland is better than both of those in my opinion. Great great great series. My favorite fantasy reads by far.

The series of the different seasons? - Autumn, Winter, and Spring? I read those, and they were excellent. I think Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman were the authors - I'll have to check.

Autumn Twilight, Winter Night, and Spring Dawning. They also did a BUNCH of other books like "The Twins" series. Really good book, all very detailed. Did Summer Flame also, but I don't think I ever read it through all of the way.

Surprised no one mentioned REH's series, which I thought were well done. I'll put that up there . I'm only done with book 1 out of 3, so I have a ways to go.

Did someone mention they had a book that had all of the lore and stuff? I'd like the name of that so I can get it.

I'm currently reading "A Brief History Of Time" by Stephen Hawking.
Other favorites would be the Dragonlance series ( Weiss and Hickman are the authors) and the hitchhikers guide series.

1) Dresden Files Series
2) Codex Alera Series
3) Harry Potter!

And as soon as I get around to it, I'll check out the hobbit and the lord of the rings.

Oh Jeez... Let's see here.

Fantasy:
Wheel of Time series
Lord of the Rings series
Song of Ice & Fire series
Prince of Nothing series by R. Scott Bakker (great and very interesting read)
Dragonlance series
Forgotten Realm series by Richard Knaak
Latro in the Mist and Soldier of Sidon by Gene Wolfe
The Solar Cycle by Gene Wolfe (This guy is an amazing amazing author)

Science & Evolution:
Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion by Hume
The Ancestor's Tale by Dawkins
How the Mind Works by Pinker
The History of Western Philosophy by Russell
The Hero of a Thousand Faces by Campbell
A Theory of Justice by Rawls
The Cosmic Landscape by Susskind

I'm missing a few works here but these are the ones that stick out to me at the moment.

Of note, and I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, someone should mention that the greatest literary works of all time are (drumroll)...

The original Conan stories by REH, as well as the Brank Mak Morn and Kull stories.

I also like to mention the short stories of H.P. Lovecraft as some of the most fantastic horror I've ever read.
