I still hold that Sansa is the best character :P You will get more of her chapters in the following books but without a doubt the man you speak of is definately one of my favorites as well. Its surprising. I usually cannot stand men like him. All morally upright, righteous, honest. reminds me of what eric bana said as hektor in Troy. "Honor the gods, love your woman, and defend your homeland." Ugh.! so many people loves him in that role. He acted out the role well; but the character just seemed bland to me. Just too perfect. Gimme someone with some shadow crossing their face. I was worried that the man you speak of would be just like this... and many think he is. He is very noble and he finds the true path... and yet.... he broods over something quite often missed. and for this he is one of my favorite characters. Is he really so noble. Well yes, and no... true but not true. Something in his past involving his sister Lyanna... but i dont wanna give anything away. Just wanted to give hints as to why i personally think he makes a great character... Winter is Coming

Having just the slightest inkling of the implications with Lyanna makes me even more excited to continue with the series. Also, I much prefer Arya to Sansa, and with the character advancement of Jon, he only shoots higher as my favourite character. I don't want to give anything away to those currently progressing through the series though, so I won't go into any detail. I'll just say this, I believe the next book will be incredible, which is great because so many series stumble around near the end of their series (Sword of Truth), and that really sucks when you have to wait between books.

At first Daenarys seemed too distant to me, and i could barely make it through her chapters, but ever since, she has been growing nearer and nearer Westeros, i find her chaptes getting more and more interesting.
dany will be awesome in this next book. LOL! poor tyrion... never gets talked about... hes a funny little man... I liked him at first but not soo much anymore... funny how that worked out with dany and tyrion. bet they'll both have large parts in the next one...

so, i bought the second book last night, and and read 135 pages of it in one sitting, not realizing how much time had pasted, i went to work with only 5 hours of sleep and pulled a 11 hour day
![]() I have to agree with you though, im really enjoying Sasha's chapters now, seeing how much transformation has takin place is quick astounding, but i always feel sorry for the way things go for her, never had so much emotional attachment in a book before! P.S i hate trying to keep things secret in this forum so we dont ruin the book for other people! Im half tempted to make a thread with the same title but with "WARNING, SPOILERS INSIDE!" P.S.S Im kinda drunk ATM so there may be a few mispelled words of bad sentences, god i need some sleep! |

Side note: Good call on "the unspoken promise", Zoa and Req. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, given the current state of the promise maker ![]()

One of my friends is just finished up a Storm of Swords. He says he doesn't like it too much, I guess it reminds him of a horrible trainwreck... something that you just gotta keep on watching to see what happens lol.
He mentioned there is nothing "good" happening in the book, that usually everyone is scarred, beaten, stabbed, shot, beheaded, killed, etc. So what "good" things happen to characters, can you think of any?

whats good for Sansa isnt good for Cersei and vice-versa... plenty has happened to both characters both good and horrible. (kidnapped, children dieing, what happened to joff might be good in ones eyes but not another)
if you are looking for some over-all redeeming quality that is not relative to one character, it took me awhile to think of one that is not too lame, but i found one that could be argued "good". Martin's books are rather grim, i wont argue with that. ok here it is: Justice. against the backdrop of murder, war, incest, fear, turmoil... violence in the novels is used to serve justice. (im not one to stand for justice personally in any name, i rather prefer to attach myself to specific characters and find whats good for them, but thats just me :P)

Well, Sandor... I've always sorta thought that he had knightly qualities even though he didn't like knights, and i believe he struck down a child running away (first book?). But he seems like.. his soul is wandering, like he's trying to find himself... and what happens (at least what I think happens) is that he becomes a..
black text below this line (highlight it) Monk of some sort? The man who was Sandor Clegane was dead, I think someone said.. believe it was a monk/priest. Which leads me to believe that Sandor became a monk, and the stonecold killer is no more. So, perhaps Sandor did find some peace? Possibly.
