I'm steadily working through my giant box of unread books that never seems to get any more empty, even though I read around 100 pages a day.

I'm reading "The Sword in the Storm" by David Gemmell right now. I know it's a little old, but if you haven't read it, I'd definitely recommend it.

David Gemmell is my favorite author. He was writing an adaptation to Troy (finished his first book, Lord of the Silver Bow), when he suddenly passed away after heart surgery.

If you have never read his work I strongly recommend his Dranei Saga, as well as the Rigante Saga (Sword in the Storm is the first of four). The Dranai saga jumps around alot revisiting Druss the Legend and later Skilgannon the Damned so his publishing dates and chronilogical orders are a bit messed up.

He is great Heroic Fantasy though.

Did R.A. Salvatore do the Merlin series? I remember reading those in 4th grade, but wasn't sure it was written by him.
