Im in love with this series so far, only on Shadow Rising right now, but I do plan on finishing it. The detail he goes into is so amazing, paints a great picture for what he is trying to say or what is about to happen. I also bought The first book of the fire and ice series and plan to start on that one soon too.

In an article on Forbes.com, Tom Doherty, president of Tor Books, said he expects that Robert Jordan will, "submit the final book in 2008 for publication in 2009." That's still two years away and many things can happen between now and then so don't put this in your calendar in ink just yet.

Robert Jordan is busy writing Book 12 as you read this. His direct quote is, "I guarantee that Book 12 will be published shortly after I finish writing it." He is also absolutely certain that this will be the final book of the series, no matter how long, because there are no more stopping points that would allow him to write two or more coherent books. Because this will easily be the longest book of the series it will probably not be published until 2009. He does have a tenative title, A Memory of Light.

I got through the second book and lost interest. His style just doesn't appeal to me. Go figure.

An FYI for fans of the series. Robert Jordan died on Sunday, September 16th after a difficult battle with a rare blood disorder. I did lose interest in the WoT series after the first 6-7 books, but it's a real shame to see him go like that.

Thats sad news. I truly enjoyed this series and his storytelling. Will be interesting to see how they handle the last book of the series. I know he was still in the process of writing it.
