Series sounds interesting. I need a new book so I'm thinkin about picking up the first in this series, along with a book by Cormac McCarthy

Do indeed! There is a prequel called New Spring out now too. RJ passes away a couple months ago.

I'm on the 5th and love them so far!

His obituary was in the New York Times. I remember finding this in awhile back. Up until then I hadn't known that Robert Jordan was his pen name.

James Oliver Ringney, you will be missed, and remembered. WoT, conan, excellent!

Yeah, I was very into this series for a long time.... but around book 5 or so I think he realized that he had a hit series going on and wanted to milk it for all it's worth. Since about book 6 there was no progression in the story line at all. I can't recall exactly which book it was (8-9) but the one where He finally "cleases the taint", an expression which I use for myself as much as I can, was completely worthless till the last chapter.

I gave up after that.

I just finished the whole series. I loved them. I wont be able to live till the last book is out. Mat is my overall favorite character.

I sure hope the author Jordan's wife decided on atleast brings some closure to the series. Very nice epic tale. Few can write so many books and keep us all wanting more.

Yeah mat has really kept it fun,.. i just finished the 4th book myself, this last one I read had alot to do with Perrin, but I bet the next will have alot of mat

Yeah. Perrin isn't even in the fifth one -.- It's gay because he's probably my favorite char.
