Wheel of Time Anyone?

I understand at times it can get boring because there are so many side stories and so much setup, but I have to know how it ends! Robert Jordan said there would only be one more book, even if it has to be 2000 pages

So, any other WoT fans out there?

I picked up the Trilogies and to my every growing dispair read volumes 1-8. I got half way through 9 and said fuck it. I'm tired of Jordan's bullshit when it comes to this series/characters/side stories and moved on to the much better world of George RR Martin.

You sir have a stronger will then I do. If I got to book 9 of a series which I found even slightly interesting, I would have to know how it ended. I /salute you.

Dunwolf you got farther than i did ;P

I read up to halfway through #8 and just lost interest. I loved the first four or five books but after that the storylines just seemed to get redundant

I read up to the second book. Then I found out there were over ten more, and I decided I couldn't make the commitment. It's bad enough that I have to read this last Harry Potter book to be done with it.

I stopped reading them at about book 6 or so. Too many characters, too many side stories, too little spotlight for the main characters. He has a good writing style, he just needs to kill off alot of his main characters or make them retire in another way. I'd have to also recommend George RR Martin's series "A Song of Ice & Fire".

It would make things a lot more interesting if about 20 side characters died. In a big fiery explosion of death. A VERY big fiery explosion of death
