Anyone read this series, the Crown of Stars series, by Kate Elliot? I was thinking about trying it out...

I thought I heard about that from some guy at my old job. If I remember right.. he said it had similar grit and feeling like George RR Martin's books. But I might have gotten that name wrong, not too sure.
