Me Talk Pretty One Day

I do quite a bit of reading of all types of genres, and one of my favorite authors across the board is David Sedaris. If you're in the mood for laugh-out-loud funny stories I'd highly recommend checking him out. Specifically, give Me Talk Pretty One Day a try. It's a collection of short essays in which Sedaris essentially airs his family's dirty laundry. If you're looking to sample his writing style, go to your local bookstore and read the chapter entitled "Big Boy" (only a few pages long) to get a taste for the laughs you're in store for.

I love Sedaris, and especially this book.

If you're in the store looking whether or not to buy it, just read the chapter entitled "Big Boy". I promise you'll be laughing out loud and you'll walk straight to the counter. It's only about 3 pages so you wont be stood there long.

A new David Sedaris book was released this week. I'm really looking forward to starting it this weekend. Check it out: When You are Engulfed in Flames

If anyone wants to try out some Sedaris, I'd recommend Me Talk Pretty One Day as a starter. I think it's his best book. I'm about half way through the new one and it seems to be pretty solid.

Sedaris is great. For anyone who likes his stuff, Michael Ian Black has a book out with a bunch of his essays. Good stuff.

Sedaris is pretty humorous. I swear it seems you can't make up some of the funniest stuff. My mom was the one who got me reading his books, and I think she's got Me Talk Pretty One Day on CD, with Sedaris as the speaker.
