JD Salinger
Catcher in the Rye... of course! I love this book.
But what about Franny and Zooey? ...or any other of his books that chronicle the life of the Glass Family. I think those are sometimes better. Anyone else enjoy reading either Catcher or the Glass Family? for me at least, these are some of the most depressing books. I cant think about them too long, else i start to get too serious. I don't know why i enjoy them so much, just wondering if anyone else enjoys them as much as i do.

I have definetly enjoyed Catcher in the Rye more than a few times.
I had a strange night once where I beat Fable from start to finish, took over all the Inn's from the cities, and then read Catcher from start to finish before going to school. I tried reading Salinger's Nine Stories (I think ) in high school, but couldn't get into it. I usually try to broaden authors I guess. Try reading A Clockwork Orange, the movie is somewhat sickening, but I think the book is awesome. But, you probably know all about that already ![]() |

Indeed, I do. Book was insane. great use of language. "So there was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, Pete georgie, and dim. Dim being real dim and all. and we sat in the Korova milk bar tyring to make up our rassadocks what to do with the evening." the movie was just... yea....

I only read A perfect Day for Bananafish in Nine Stories. thats the one about Seymour Glass. I m not sure if the other even talk about the Glass Family. Try reading Franny and Zooey or Rasie High the Roofbeam Carpenters if you ever go back. They are longer short stories about 70 pages or so and really pry into the lives of the Glass Family. Nine Stories didn't really do it for me also ![]()
