There wont be a winner...
In a few years our PCs will play both, just like DVD+ and DVD- The price of DVDs was very high when they came out too. But I dont think these new DVD formats will last long. Maybe last long, but wont be the main format. Harddrives are the future. There is a massive uncertainty about the future because no one is leading it. I'd like to be able to turn on my TV at 3am in the morning and watch every epesoide of LOST that has ever been aired. I want to be able to go to my local DVD store or go online and buy a DVD. Some sort of "DVD-Key". The DVD is called "Atlas". Atlas is available on TV but you can only watch it once you have bought the DVD. So I type in my CD key and this gives me access to its content. Thats just one vision of many. But like the others it has massive restrictions and reasons why its not being developed. |

I think HD-DVD will pip it - Blue-ray is probably the better format, but i get the feeling Sony aren't quite the power they were, and have messed up badly with the delay of ps3...
We'll probably be using holographic storage in a few years or so anyway ![]()
