ok.. so.. Im really confused by this but if anyone can shed some light I would appreciate it..
Im seriously thinking of just buying a round ticket and throwing away the second ticket.

Why is a one way ticket 1k and a round trip 500$?

shouldn't it be the other way around due to expenses?

I was gonna say cause wheverever you're going doesnt want you there and they are paying the other half of the ticket

for internationals besides the typical net places, I would check that country's air lines, see if they fly here, sometimes they charge less than american companies.

Round trips tickets are usually cheaper then one-way tickets. There are
several reasons why a roundtrip flight is cheaper than a one-way
flight.
It also depends on the route the airline takes based on which the fare
is calculated. One of the reasons is outlined below.

A roundtrip flight is cheaper than a one-way trip because in a
roundtrip
flight, the airline is assured that you will be using both the portions
of the flight and hence the seats are reserved. Whereas in a one-way
flight, you are just using one portion. The airline is not sure if the
return will be occupied or not and may have to fly with seats
unoccupied
thereby incurring a loss.

Please note, once you have booked a reservation, you must be present
for
all the segments of your trip. If you do not use any of your travel
segments, the remaining itinerary gets canceled.

think it's more cause they know you moving there for a while or forever so they might as well leech up yer moneyz cause you wont be flying with them again

and that explanation is crap, cause if they have to fill your spot on the flight back, isnt that another 1k for the poor soul that gets your seat? so that an extra 1k they made both ways...
