Well, the kid can look at the bright side of this at least. She WAS actually a woman.

But seriously...has anyone noticed that this kind of thing is becoming more and more common place?...sadly. Hell, my ex-wife is remarried to a guy she met in WoW! He's from New Zealand. Wierd if you ask me.

I think thats messed up. Did she know that 17 was underage? She isn't from the states (I don't know much about it). But I think its kind of messed up that they charged her with "abducting a minor".. from what I hear, they were planning on meeting. So the 17 boy was looking forward to it. I just kind of feel sorry for her.

Well what's the age of consent down there? In Michigan, it's 16, meaning I can consent to just about anything I want. And unless she physically grabbed him and went to the airport with him, she hadn't abducted him (yet anyway).

So really, all they have to go on is her coming to meet him, even though no physical interaction took place. Also, did she know he was underage? He could have easily said, "Yeah, I'm 20, going on 21". Meh.

Eh, both sides of this story have little to no rationality. Personally, I'd never agree to meet anyone online in RL, especially someone from a videogame who's over 30. There are a lot of sickos out there nowadays, and from the mentality I've seen on WoW, nobody is really worth meeting anyway.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer to find a girl the traditional way. By interacting with one in RL.
