I got a brain hacker:

Three guys walk into a hotel. They are looking for rooms. The intern there informs the gentlemen that a room costs $30 a night. The men, looking a little disappointed, each only have 10 dollars. So they decide to pool their money together and share a room. They pay and head upstairs to the room. Later that day, the manager walks in and notifies the intern that the room only costs $25 today, so he gives the intern 5 singles and sends him to the room that the three guys were staying. The intern, not knowing how to split five dollars amoungst three people, decides to give only one dollar to each person and pocket the remaining two.

So that means, after the refund, each man paid $9 for the room (10 - 1 = 9)

and 9 x 3 = 27

Plus the 2 dollars in the interns pocket:

27 + 2 = 29. So wheres the missing dollar?
