Why art is stupid

I cant believe he even calls himself a artist. I study art and design and I'm ashamed how people abuse anything and call it art. This spectacle would never be tolerated in Canada, thank God. Modern artists... pfft

A lot of art is about shock. If you're shocked or angry or disgusted then this artist has gotten his art across.

Now I don't condone abuse in general and this is no exception but this is what the artist is trying to make people feel. Art isn't something that's pretty always; art is whatever people accept into a gallery.

Just something else to reinforce the over all idea i got from my "Art History" class i took here in college: Art is stupid, serves no purpose, and kills animals. Rather productive activity it seems.

As an artist I say don't blame art. Blame the people. Starving a dog to death I do not consider art, I consider it cruel. I am a dog person and own two dogs. I didn't go to school for a BFA and a BA in the arts to starve a dog. I doubt that guy has any education, he is just a dumb ass and the people who sat there to watch the dog starve are just as dumb.

He is not an artist, I don't see anything stimulating or creative about anything he has done.

i have a 6 year old rottweiler/german sheperd mixed dog that i love, this dog would give his life to defend me if something should happen. The idea that some sadistic fuck would purposely do that to an animal makes me sick. I wouldnt say art sucks cause of this one guy. Its like defining a group of people by the one idiot of the group. That by no means excuses what that guy did tho. It was sick and twisted and should never be allowed to be done again. Hopefuly enough people can support the protests to keep stuff like this from happening again.

It's disgusting. I work in a vet clinic, and have seen skinny neglected animals like that more often than I wish for, and they make me mad every single time.

But I think that guy should be tied to a stake and starved while people watch. I'm big on art....even modern and performance art.....but this was a criminal act, not art.
