Best code for browser based MMORPG?
So what's the best code for a 'browser based' MMORPG? I'm thinking PHP... probably easiest to use. Is it the best?

PHP for your Browser and mySQL for the database work
![]() Thats just my opinion though, you could use java for the browser with mySQL for the database but you would probably encounter some weird implementation problems depending naturally on your design choices for the game (2D, 3D, MUD, Text Based). While most will tell you its not possible in higher languages it would be, problem would be interfacing it with browser based requirements and the languages therefore used by them.

Probably a 2D, something more simplistic like Urban Dead. On the grand scale.. perhaps something like Welcome to Gaia | Gaia Online, but that would take a LONG TIME imo.

An MMO doesn't need battles to be an MMO, all MMO stands for is that it's massively multiplayer. Anyhow, I'm not trying to determine what is and what is not an MMO, but rather what coding (php, html, etc) they used in making those games such as Urban Dead, Gaia, etc.. etc... etc... and in the end getting some thoughts on what is the best coding to use for something of that nature.

I'd say flash, javascript, mysql, html, css.
