Warhmmer Shipment Back-ordered.

Today I got this email:

Thank you for ordering on EA Store (US). Unfortunately, the product(s) you've ordered is currently out of stock and could not be shipped. The product(s) has been placed on back-order and will be shipped as soon as possible when the stock becomes available. You will receive another e-mail notification when your order has actually shipped. If you paid by credit card on our site, your credit card has been pre-authorized, but you will NOT be charged until the product ships. If you pre-paid using an alternate payment method, we will hold your funds until the product ships. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sorry if this has been in a thread, I searched backorder, and Back-order nothing showed up that seemed to show this.

UGH, sorry to hear that, man. Luckily I had no problems with mine. I was at Game Stop bright and early to get my shiny, new CE right out of the box it was shipped in. I was the first person in the city to get a copy! ... NOOGE.

Got that same email from the EA store. Then I got another one saying something along the lines of "this may not apply to your order, we'll be sending another email to varify. we do plan on compensating those on backorder."

well the problem is all these peeps that have pre ordered for there codes are gonna suffer the problem i had today where my preorder code stopped working luckily the game arrived yesterday at my mums house and shes bringing it up on sat for me i phoned her up for the game code

I am on hold with Best Buy right now... I have not received my CE box yet. Considering I placed my order March 18th I would think I should get it before most people...

I am pretty pissed that I am being made to wait when I was promised a "head start" after spending the extra 30 bucks for the game 6 months ago while people buy the game off the shelves today and are playing now.

Oh and Best Buy looked up my order, asked me to hold, then put me on hold 10 minutes, then hung up on me.

edit: 30 more minutes on the phone with Best Buy, some asshole named Kurtis, who refused to give me his full name, told me "there is nothing we can do to help," and "we can't offer any compensation." Total assholes. EA and Best Buy among others have totally dropped the ball on this, I am completely fed up with both companies right now >.<!

Wow that sucks on the back order. I got mine in the mail yesterday. But the box it was in was crushed and ripped. Luckily the game cd's are still good. Just the box is all messed up.

I got mine from the ea store as well.

It sounds like this is a problem with logistics, but who knows... maybe they really didn't manufacture enough of the product. Seeing as quite a few people got shafted in this regard, I'm curious to see what Mythic will do for these customers who will be forced to wait a week or two before they even get their product codes. This wouldn't be a good way to impress people who are going to be paying monthly for their service, so maybe they'll boost the leeway time for these customers or something.

Maybe not though.

I couldn't be more frustrated... I was really looking forward to this weekend hopefully catching up to the power levelers who took the week off of work.

I wasted an hour this morning trying to get answers, here is my letter to Best Buy after accepting my fate

This is the last time I ever purchase from Best Buy.

I placed this pre-order 6 months in advance and was promised early access to this game via the collectors edition. Instead the product is late being shipped and I am forced to wait to play instead.

The product in question is a limited quantity item that is sold out. I cannot cancel the order and purchase somewhere else, this is SUPPOSED TO BE my reserved copy. Who knows if that even exists anymore...

Further, after 2 emails and 2 phone calls to customer service no one has answered any of my questions. All I want is an explanation and reasonable compensation.

My first call I spent 25 minutes on the phone waiting until your system disconnected me. After that I called back and spoke to some jerk named Kurtis (badge #1186327) who told me, "you can either cancel your order or wait for it." He refused any compensation for Best Buy's failure to deliver and offered no explanation. He also told me there was no one else I could speak to about the issue and would not tell me his full name. I wasted another 35 minutes on the phone with this dope.

Best Buy has failed to deliver what was advertised and has failed to offer appropriate customer service in response. Further Best Buy has failed to offer reasonable compensation for my loss of time (1 hour on the phone in addition to time lost waiting for the product in question).

Mine is back ordered to... I ordered over 3 months ago via bestbuy and never got my beta CD key and then it was back ordered. I got a confirmation that they shipped it out yesterday however, I won't get it till monday cuz UPS don't ship on weekends... this is getting very very annoying.
