In game /tell for group invite: good or bad?

I've been wondering if people got annoyed when they got privately invited to start doing something in group. I know there's some days you feel that you want to do stuff alone and it's easier to get annoyed by it but in most cases : Do you mind getting privately invited to do group events?

I'm always a bit worried of annoying someone by sending them private tells when I try to start something up. A lot of people are not using vent and not reading guild chat constantly missing what is being started. I've managed to get a lot of people interested in joining the group of what I was starting with private tells but well I don't want to get on anyones nerves while using that method to get people to participate. I certainly don't want anyone to hate me for it either.

So what do you think about private tells to get more people to join a group?

Well one point on this one. Due to lack of filters. Even for myself.. guild/party chat seems to get lost when you're looting or selling things. If people haven't turned off general chat, there's just one more line of spam. Later i'm going to play with making another chat box for guild/party only. and see if it still display all the garbage.

i set up a separate tab for raids. it has party, guild, tells, warband set to it. all others are filtered. clears the clutter up a bit. hope that helps somewhat. back on topic, i dont really care about pm or using guild chat. keep in mind for those of you reading this, if you dont get a pm for stuff, its not that you're not liked. its that sometimes we need specific classes for what we're doing. especially when we all get to 40 and we're doing raids instances and the like.

I like using guild chat as opposed to vent or pm's. if folks are interested in stuff, they'll reply in guild chat or miss out.

I don't really care, if I'm in the mood I accept, if not I'll just politely refuse.

Some people bobble burst easily at the things I consider the lamest. That's why I asked. I really don't want people to force someone to join a group and I don't want people to feel that way either about it.

I don't mind. I don't listen to voice chat unless it's part of a scenario or other group effort, so I get most of my information through regular chat ingame.
