AoC: M rating is no more

I hope this some fake info.

The stories of Conan depict a savage world where lives are cheap. Thus, it is to be expected that the combat system in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures will be bloody, but from what we've seen thus far, it is not much bloodier than in many other similar games. The developers have apparently had to remove certain more gory bits, such as decapitation and dismemberment that were still present in early trailers. But even so, there's still some impressive stuff in the combat system

I too hope it is misinformation. It's not so much the gore aspect of it, but the feeling of being in REH gritty, dark, moving world.

Not sure if this is really the author or not, but here is the response from the AOC forums.

I've now corrected the article as far as decapitation is concerned and I hope that you'll forgive me this stupid mistake.

Note that the article is still the same.

Well look at the bright side of the picture

I mean the decapitation and the desmemberment might have been cheesy looking to begin with. Or maybe they just took it of or certain mobs. Just hoping for the best

Well, it's pretty simple. One, and only one, of two parts involved is a moron:

1. Silpion (AoC forum nick) - for a writing an article with a stupid mistake in it and providing misleading info to everybody.

2. Funcom - for making sure everyone saw, during E3, combo moves ending in decapitation, impalement or whatever just to remove it a few weeks afterwards.

Needless to say, I am hoping #1 is the moron.

My sentiments exactly. While decaps aren't the reason I want AoC, I do want them in AoC.
