LoS Over 2 Servers - US and EU

I was thinking that seeing as LoS seems to have a lot of european members that want to join also, then it could prove a good idea to have an EU LoS aswel. So LoS would be on the US server and EU server working technically as 2 seperate guilds, but theoretically we would all come back to this site at the end of the day, and be 1 guild over 2 servers? Might make for some good options and doors having some players able to give input from the EU side of things and some from the US..? Plus could potentially give LoS a greater player base to choose from for its members. Just a thought

can't we all get one version? or will the lag be terrible, if so, then it would be a necessity to have 2 different guilds

Yeh, only problem with one version is like you said, the ping for the people in EU playing on US servers probably wouldnt be great, and the billing would work out a strain too. And that is if people in EU will be at all able to play on US servers.

I don't think we will be playing on two servers unless the lag is tremendously bad. We really want to stick together. Hope I'm not speaking against what TB and the council think, but I'm almost certain this would not happen.

Hugh? The only way I could even see this happening at all is if they made it extremely hard for Europeans and anyone else out of the states to play on US servers. Part of the point of having a multi-lingual (sp) guild was to satisfy all types of playtimes.... so unless there is extreme ping issues I don't see it happening due to where we all are located in the world.
However, depending on how large of guild we become and how gameplay actually plays out in the end.. I could see a sub-LOS forming either for recruitment purposes or PvE/PvP. It really depends on the Guild UI they provide us and how functional it will be if this idea is even necessary or not. ATM I don't see it as being a convienent idea.

There might be ping issue. I mean looking at the graphic of the game, it might be a pain for European users to play in the U.S.

Anyway, I hope we can stay togather, hate to see alot of you guys go

If at all possible (even if it's very frustrating, laggy, hassle with billing and what not), we will keep LoS on one single server. LoS will not exist on two different servers, no matter what the reason is (eg. LoS on PvP and PvE and RP servers). If there is NO WAY that people from outside the US can play on US server, we will simply give EU (or any other continent) members section of their own on these boards where they can organize, but guild name will probably NOT be "Legion Of Steel" on any other server but the main one that we end up using.

Tho we do have and will continue to have members and council from EU and other places, but w/out Thunderblade to actually police the council and everything else "first hand" there will be no more than one LoS on any given server.

We are very serious about the reputation and wellfare of this guild, and we are not willing to risk another "LoS" running w/out direct supervision, for the lack of better expression.

Again, if it comes down that EU people can't play on US server at all, we will make sub forum for EU guild here on the boards, and members of EU guild will still be considered as LoS member and will probably have access to everything that US members do on the boards, however, we don't want another "Legion Of Steel" emerge from this guild, if that makes sense. That's the current plan.

of course europian could play on us servers, even if the us servers will block EU ips (like in ddo), you could get a fast-free not anonymus proxy for the EU people

in the worst case, just scan thunderblade's brain into a micro computer chip or somemthing like that, so he could command 2 guilds, its just important to not let the cyborg-thunderblade to meet the full-organic one!

Allow me to explain this in terms folks can understand a bit better.

There will only be one Legion of Steel, period!

Any questions?

On a side note to what you said Drv, I disagree with the idea of having a subforum for folks if EU people can't play with LoS on US servers. If you can't play on the LoS server, then you need to find a guild that can accomidate your needs or form your own guild. Its harsh, I know, but sometimes its better to be blunt and upfront. Anyway, this is my opinion and does not reflect any decision the council will make. They will decide what happens when and if EU cannot play on US servers.

Btw, I'm in Europe so don't think I'm discriminating in anyway, i'm just keepin it real.
