So what other mmorpg's have you been following?
It's perfectly natural to follow more then one, so no harm done. I've been following Vanguard for over a year, but lost some interest in it when it appeared to be "too nice".. I guess is the only way I can put it. Also, the grind wears on me a bit. I do like some of the aspects of the game, such as how the market is going to be handled which still allows for exporting and importing goods. It's a very item oriented game though, much like old EQ. Your starting stat's don't mean.. well.. crap.. after a while, it's what you have on that counts.
Also been looking at Pirates of the Burning Sea, sounds interestings too.. but I doubt it would keep my interests long because ship to ship combat will get old after a while. There's talk of avatar vs avatar combat later on, but still I don't think the game in general would ever hold my interest long. Age of Conan is still my prime mmorpg though, it's got the concepts I liked in many other mmorpg's and mashed them into one game. Guild warfare, castles, blood, etc. |

hmm, I was following RF online.. but I have a growing fear of asian mmorpg's since I went through Ragnarok Online and FF:XI. Now RF is being made by codemasters, yes.. but it will have mechs and stuff, and that scares me.

I was following Pirates of the Burning Sea until I found out each player would run thier ship. I guess the camadrie of running a ship with a crew is more appealing to me.
I am also keeping an eye on Star Trek Online, it looks pretty interesting, though some of its aspects have some trekkies upset. Oh, and also the concept stuff behind Shadowrun Online.

I'm currently only having my eyes on two games.
1# Age of Conan - Hyborian adventures 2# Dark and Light DnL seems to launch itself into a disaster, but they might just pull it off in april when thery are due to release the final product. Right now they are in a sort of beta which is "hell online" in most players eyes. They can't even make a patch that installs without forcing you to manually move some files, deleting some others, and then doing it all over again. sounds weird to me. But I'm sticking around just to see what happens to the game. I'm way more interested in AoC

Yeah Warhammer was taken over by Mythic, so that's good news in terms of it not getting cancelled again. I had followed DDO before it went in the toilet, and something about DnL just screams Shadowbane. By that I mean, having really lofty and respectable goals with no idea exactly how to deliver those goals successfully.
Vanguard looks like the best one after AoC. Graphics are pretty nice, lots to do at the character creation screen, and they have these neat little "co-op feats", where two or more people can combine moves together in order to unlock advanced attack forms. Pretty innovative those guys at Sigil. But it's just another MMORPG to me, whereas the draw of Hyboria is far too powerful for me to ignore. AoC is going to be a cool game, it's the only thing truly in my sites right now.

Back to topic, not following any other games. Been following Dark n Light but they are taking way too long so I gave up on that as soon as I found out about AoC.
