WAR - Making music (actually pretty cool!)
It's funny watching this guy make music while he's driving to and from work. Pretty cool lol. So far the soundtrack is pretty good from what I can tell.

It's idiots like that that make driving in places like where I live so dangerous. Sorry if this sound mean, put I hope one day he hits a telephone pole so hard they have to pick his remains from the cracks of it with a putty knife. Less dumbasses on the road like him make it safer for those that drive and use their brains.
Also, it compounds my belief that if morons like this work for Mystic, then the community will be the same as I thought it would. Especially considering a large potion of the WoW kids will move to it, hence, why I have absolutley NO INTEREST in that game. |

The WAR crowd isn't drawing from a bnet Diablo kids fan base like WoW did. It's drawing from Warhammer tabletop players and DAoC fans... both of which are a more mature demographic than WoW is. On top of that, I think many of us have played WoW. It wasn't the game for me, but to say it's 90% full of kids is incorrect. It's a simplistic game, and it draws in alot of casual first time MMORPG players, farmers, and bnet kids... but I personally know of alot of mature people who still play it. So anyway, hate the game, never play it, but.... the comments you're making about a game you don't seem to know much about is unreasonable. I don't want to really argue the point, but here is a link to Mythic's Mark Jacobs responding to such things on the f13 forums. You can dislike the game, but let's at least be fair: http://forums.f13.net/index.php?topi...4809#msg254809 Anyway, back to the topic at hand. That guy needs to work in an office, not on a freeway in Virginia... that much I agree with. ![]()

Well.. I started up WoW again a little while back. It's a less challenging game then say.. the original EQ and various games like that. It's still fun, if played in moderation and not bent on reaching the end under a month. Sure WoW has alot of kiddies (Not necessarily young, but immature either way) in it, but it also has some cool people in it too.
I've been following and still am following the Warhammer Online game. I even followed the original Warhammer Online before it went down the tubes (Before Mythic). I've played the Warhammer RPG for years as I was growing up so I know alot about it. It has a good atmosphere.. it's dark.. gruesome.. etc. I agree with Torr, Gameplay > Graphics. I don't think the graphics are bad in the game, they are a bit cartoony.. but that's fine with me. When I first played WoW.. I was really put off by the cartoon look, but after a while it grew on me.. it has flavor to it.

I completely agree that Gameplay surpasses Graphics anyday of the week.
I'm not really dissing Warhammer the game either. I am aware that Warhammer has been around for a couple of decades now, and that WoW ripped it off, not vice versa. I have nothing against Warhammer. I never really even hated WoW, it was the community that brought about my contempt for it. And considering that WoW and Warhammer Online look alike, and both have PvP, I am assuming (Yeah I know, never assume) that alot of the WoW kiddies will flock to it. Hence, why I didn't even bother to try and peak my interest in it. But, at the same time, I have seen one hell of a flood of WoW refugees coming to the AoC boards too, so no matter what, they will be where they want to be regardless. We'll see. I guess I wil forever dream of a mature, gory based game that is devoid of idiots and kiddies. And that's all it wil ever be, a dream. /sigh Last edited by Orm Sunnhet; 01-04-2007 at 05:22 AM. |
