Oh I so called it. Knew they were going to merge classes. Well guess that means Ill be going with Conqueror since Im not a big Dark Templar fan.
EDIT: But I will say with the merge I will have to make less alts to play all the classes I want to try out, which is all of them still. Gald I don't have to choose from conqueror over liberator and barbarian over reaver. Last edited by Craftblade; 01-12-2007 at 10:56 AM. |

I'll hold my tongue until we know more info, but it looks like this is going to suck A LOT, I can see WoW talent tree written all over it, which I don't like. You either have to chose this or that, defeating the entire purpose of merging in the first place.
Hmm...Ok...so.....do I take heal or do I take life drain.....do I take dark dmg or holy dmg...OLD OLD OLD!!! damn it! This is especially going to suck if we have the same amount of feat/skill points that we were originally going to have. If that is the case, people will either end up being (for example) old Zealots or Dark Templars, or they will be half of each - which I don't find appealing, and merging would make no sense. Hopefully they will give us at least 150% of skill/feat points that we were originally going to have, so people can be Zealot and half a DT, or the other way around or anything in between. EDIT: Looks like I couldn't really hold my tongue lol, but I didn't bitch as much as I wanted to tho ![]()

Ugh ...it burns.
So if you want to be a "paladin" style player and be "holy" like the Zealot, you still have to choose Dark templar? That is retarted. And to merge Barbarian with Master thief? Also retarted. Reaver yes, but mixing an AoE damge 2 handed weapon class with a sneaking assassin style class? Also the Conqeror used 2 handed weapons and the Liberator was a duel Weilder. And their banners served totally different purposes. Sure they could wear the same armor but they were "Different" fighting styles. Now only 3 rogue classes? I was loving how there were so many different classes. That is one thing that drew me to this game. They Warcraft'ed out the melee classes. I could go on for days, but I'm gonna slowly back away for now, and try to chill out, for a while.

I understand we don't have all the info so most of what we chat about is a guess CB you are right. But a merge that would allow us to pick and choose skills would be very cool so long as we don't get stuck on a WOW tree. Being able to eventually add all the skills might not be realistic. You don't get to be fast and strong in most cases. Lets see what the open beta brings.
With that in mind, dose this type of tweak to the game tell any of you vets out there where they are in the beta process?
