Warhammer 40K: The MMO?

There's a rumor going about that THQ/Relic might be making a new MMO using the Warhammer 40K universe as a setting.

I was thinking about this at work today and came to the conclusion that a Warhammer 40K MMO would be just plain fantastic.

If the guys at Relic are able to keep the same dark "feel" to this MMO like they did with the Dawn of War series I will be a very happy gamer.

I thought about how this should be offered to players. Either as a FPS or "lock on target and button mash" type gameplay, and I think that it would pretty much have to be a FPS. I know FPS's have issues with lag and such, bit I think the tech has moved along enough to be able to work with it. Funcom seems to think so with AoC.

Another thing I might like to see is both the regular 40K battlefields along with BattleFleet Gothic as well. The success of the ground battlefield somehow having influence on the space fleet battles in orbit, and vice-verse

Anyway, just my random musings for today.

Actually, he's talking about 40K. It's the futuristic setting to Warhammer. There's a roleplaying book coming out from www.blackindustries.com in a month or two I believe.

I would have to play it to see how it is. I do like the atmosphere, but I like the fantasy setting (Warhammer Online) more. But.. who's to say that the 40K game wouldn't rock either.

You should google around and check out Warhammer 40K, it's has some really nice lore to it.

Games workshop had putted alot more effort into 40k than Warhammer I think.

Plus I love the 40k lore, it is Scifi + high fantasy + horror
