I've been playing for like 1.5 months now and I'm in a Raven (battleship) with some pretty sweet pvp setups. It doesn't take as long as you might think. At least not compared to what it used to be.

If enough people from this guild start playing I'd like to get in a corp with you all. The one we are in now is mostly EU players and they are never on the same time we are. sucks. But they are very very friendly.

We had a corp called "The Steel Armada", it was basically just a group of us from LOS and nothing more. I believe.. I had the retriever, sounds like the ship I had for mining. How much does 1 million SP give you in terms of say.. getting a battleship or something? If it takes less then 1 month to get a battleship, I might start playing again. I played a long while ago, probably I don't know.. 8+ months to a year or something, it's been quite a while.

I'm tempted to give this game a try, I love space sims, but dunno if it will be worth it for only a few weeks, im playing lotro (march 30th) till AoC or WAR come out...

Well, the thing about EVE is that you can play that even while your playing AoC or WAR. Since you can play a bit, train, play AoC or WAR, etc. You don't have to play to get experience and such, which is sort of cool.

Well, I can check the prices on Battleships for you. But I am sure they are well more than 1 million ISK. Not to say I couldn't give you a few million. It's relaxing to me atm to just mine while I advance my training so I can fly my Mining Barges. Curretnly using the Ferox to mine. I had 4 NPC pirates escorting 2 Pirate Mining Barges last night attack me mid mining. Wasted all of them with almost no damage to my shields lol. So I'm debating on if it's even worth training for the mining barges. I'd had to of ran if I were in the barges when that crew showed up.

Only draw back to the Ferox for mining is I have to make MUCH MORE FREQUENT trips back and forth from the asteroid field to the space station to drop off loads. Even with 3 Cargo extenders.

Well actually my first month I trained for mining. Got to the retriever and pretty good mining skills; then decided to train for a battleship and start doing pvp. Once I decided to train for a BS it took me 7 days training before I could fly the Raven. The raven is what a good majority seem to use to solo lvl 4 missions (highest current level). So it won't take long at all to get in to something like that. Money will probably be more the limiting factor if you don't have anything from your old account.

1 million SP = Skill Points. Battleships ISK price is around 100 million. Doesn't take long to get that mining but newbie missions might take a little bit longer until you start salvaging wrecks.

The mining barges are much more efficient. Once you get to the Covetor it will at the very least double your ISK/hour if not triple it. All you have to do for barges is get your drone skills to lvl 4/5 so you can have drones kill the rats. I had 4 drones on my retriever and they could take rats down to .5 sec without trouble. All the barges have room for drones. Also the covetor can get you up around 12,000 M^3 of cargo space with cargo extender II's which is plenty. Or you can do what I did and mine in to a jet can and then get my badger mark II' with 12,500 M^3 of cargo space to haul it back to the station.

Ya, I had the Retriever Mining Barge. I remember sticking around the core Caldari systems which is right next to a space port so I could go back and forth really quickly. Although, the ore wan't worth that much. I don't remember how much I made but it was a couple million per hour at the time I think? That's not that much, at that rate it would take me hours and hours to earn enough for a battleship.

So it would take me 7 days or so to learn the skills to fly a BS? I would assume that we both had somewhat the same skills then if we both have the Retriever.

I used to use my Retriever to mine a ton of ore quickly and jet it out in cargo containers and then come back with a cargo ship and pick them up. People never touched my containers, probably because I renamed them "Space Mine IV" or something like that which scared off the newbies lol.

If you can fly the retriever then at most it's probably 7 days or so. I built my character with strictly mining in mind....so I kind of screwed myself where Naz went strictly pvp in the beginning....He got the Raven 2 days before I did though. His other skills (missiles, shields...ect) are better than mine.

If you wanna start up your account again let me know and I'll help you get some stuff together if you'd like. Once you get the raven fitted you can make some good money on the missions. Train salvaging up (new skill they added). That lets you use a Salvager (high slot) on a wreck and it finds extra parts from the wreck you can sell. some of them sell for 200k a piece. It makes the missions 2-3 times more lucrative and only takes like a day to train for.

I vote Thunder to start up EVE again and get a LOS Corp going. I know there are several other LOS members that play EVE. When WAR does come out I'll probably still play both since EVE doesn't take any in game time to train skills.
