Killed to Death

A part of me wants to start playing again, but it bugs me that I'd have to wait a couple months at least to partake in any large fleet battle. Well.. at least well enough to stand a chance and actually do a little damage. I had a mining barge with my last character, even though I made some nice $$$.. it got really boring quickly. Maybe I'll pick this up and play again, I don't know.. I just don't want to start from scratch on my combat skills which is something I'd have to do even with my miner.. well I think my miner has *some* combat skills, but not many.
The time skill system is something I really like about EVE, and something I also really dislike. You can't grind, which is good, and bad.. depending I guess. It's like your looking at your timer and say.. "GO FASTER YOU, MUSH MUSH!!" *snaps whip* ... but nope, nothing. Only thing you can improve is your attributes or whatever that decrease the amount of time it takes to learn something, but even that can take a considerable amount of time.

Just traveled 17 jumps to reaccquire my Ferox. NASTY ship IMO. But I'll simply eb using it to mine for now. 1 Turret laser, 2 Launchers, and 2 Mining lasers currently.
I was in-game for maybe 10 minutes and had my first NPC pirate attack lol. 3 of them in .05 space. I was amazed how much I still remember about the game after being out of the loop for a bit over a year now. Wasted those 3 fairly fast, with VERY minimal damage to my ship. Yeah, I'll have to remember today when I get home and in-game to send an eve-mail to you Ganijhitsu. May be attempting to join a Corp. that resides in 0.0 spacve soon. Had one offer from one already. That's where the REAL excitment is! |

I might join in again and just play a little here and there, I don't know yet.

It's a fascinating game, the graphics look really nice. I've pretty much avoided it, because even though you can let it play when your offline... stills seems like you need to really commit to it (with monthly fees if nothing else). I guess sometimes I worry I'll get hooked on it. Kinda funny really....

Well, it's probably easier for me to jump right back in because as I've said before, I DID play awhile ago.
Came back to my character having a Ferox (Battle Cruiser). NICE ship, TONS of available weapons slots, etc. I also have the two top models of Mining Barges (Conveter and Retriever), I just can't fly them yet, but close. Also a Bantam and a well equipped Merlin I use for PvP that I appropriately named "Kamakazi" since I stand little chance in some situations. But they are inexpensive and it's a rush to fly into a situation where I have a 95% death possibility lol. I had a friend who played for a long time that quit. He gave me all his stuff fairly cheap. So I am stacked in the ship department, as well as starting out with nearly 13 million ISK, and a bunch of gear in various space stations in a bunch of systems. I'm almost at 900,000SP as well. ![]() |

Naz and Me are playing this daily. I'm not sure when you all played last but they've made some changes that helps younger players jump in quicker.
1. newbies start out with 1million SP instead of nothing 2. Frigates (newbie ships) are capable of being very effective in fleet battles. And they are very cheap. I've been playing for like 1.5 months now and I'm in a Raven (battleship) with some pretty sweet pvp setups. It doesn't take as long as you might think. At least not compared to what it used to be. If enough people from this guild start playing I'd like to get in a corp with you all. The one we are in now is mostly EU players and they are never on the same time we are. sucks. But they are very very friendly.
