I wouldn't be surprised if they do the PvE/RvR zone divisions in the "captured" capital city. I think it would be fair enough. The must have services (auction, travel, basic vendors, etc.) have to be accessible at all times.

What I know about rvr is that we do get some equipment from siege. Or at least for killing other people and maybe when we kill guards and the boss thing (I guess there is gonna be one). I think we get some kind of honor points or something out of every kill. Have to see...

I am realy wondering if theres gonna be some pvp instances that have war machines like cannons or ornithopters (dwarfs). That would be cool.

From what I have read - but not confirmed by anyone in particular... Is that there will be four sub-bosses that you kill once the city falls from the instancing outside the capital. Each of these sub-bosses will drop something of good vaule (The best gear is said to drop outta the city sieges.), but once you kill those four sub-bosses, it will spawn the "boss" of the city. I would assume it would take some time to kill these sub-bosses, and as you do, the guards gradually increase in strength. So with that in mind, I think it will be quite difficult to actually progress through the entire city siege and kill the boss... So I highly doubt one side would be able to take all three cities. Although, this is all speculation and subject to change, or to be completely and utterly false, which isn't beyond me, and is actually more of my track-record!

I'm not sure, I read a response to a question about server lag and such. One person was concerned with THAT many people being in the same area at once and how it would affect server performance. I think for this purpose that even the city raid itself is instanced, thou I'm not completely sure.

I think I also read that not only will orc-a-pults be a siege weapon, but also a mode of transportation (a "flight path" if you will) for the greenskins. Now THAT'S quality air travel ^_~

from daoc sieges, I can tell you that lag will happen, specially if you try to play with the minimum requirements...

but then again that's what makes the game's rvr so fun, the massive battles.

and it wont affect the server itself, they divide the different areas, so if the top tier is lagging, the lower tiers and the pve areas won't lag, if one crashes, the other's wont...well it's rare but we managed to crash the entire server more than once during relic raids..but hasnt happened for years.

the ppl that complain the most about lag, are those that have to understand that new games require a lot more resources, 2gigs of ram is not enough anymore, and some ppl are still wow'ed by having 1gig well at least for gaming.

I'm really interested in WAR's RvR combat. I missed the bandwagon for DAoC since my gf and I at the time were still very heavily into EQ1. Heard many good things about DAoC's RvR, and I don't think I heard much of anything bad during all this time concerning it. Which.. is always a good sign that Mythic did something right.
