WAR RvR Discussion
I was thinking, if the end game RvR goal is to capture the opposing faction's cities, then, in theory, a organized faction could capture all three major cities at the same time. If this is possible, how would it affect the opposing faction in terms of access to AH, banks, vendors, etc.
What do you think?

Well they said that once the city is captured harder guards start respawning until the holders of the city cannot hold it any longer and the people that have captured the city can slay the merchants and other vendors.

When you invade the enemy city it's in an instanced scenario. I'm guessing that means that the AH, bank, etc. will not be affected at all by the raid and will be seperate from it.
Also, as Thundar said, the guards grow steadily stronger, and it's my understanding that once EVERY player is forced out the event completely resets. |

I just don't see it as possible that one side could hold multiple capitals simultaneously. You would have to move all three war fronts, all the way back to each capital and hold them. Then have the resources to take each capital and then hold it while you take the others. I could see it possible that there could be an imbalance on a particular server where one side takes capitals and the other side cannot, but I can't see the balance being so far to one side that they could take all three simultaneously.
You would need to outnumber them at each front substantially, somewhere in the area of a 5 to 1 numbers advantage on the whole server. I haven't played the game so I don't know, but to me it would be like one guild holding all of the keeps in DAOC... it would sure be some feat.

Sorry, no Flight path/portal/travel method/whatever camping (those guys at Mythic are thinking ) and it will be in these safe areas where a bank, auction house, whatever will be located. I'll see if I can find a dev post to back me up on this tomorrow.

Beat me to it Sleeky
. My understanding, as Sleeky posted above, is that entrance to the city (breaking down the gates etc.) will be instanced. However, once the instance is completed the instance will close and in the live world the gates will open. At this point your entire army can pour through the gates to loot and wreak havoc .I remember everything Sleeky mentioned and I'm almost positive he's correct. |
