I am really excited to play WAR and would love to be in beta and test it out, I also really want this game to rock. All my friends play WoW at the moment so i want them to see this game and have to manually shut there mouths with there hands

Well, I doubt the NDA lets you show your friends. But who knows.

I think i read somewhere today that beta won't start until fall of 07

Well on the warhammeralliance forums on one of the links you posted a guy name Drusain went to the event and said
"Oh yeah, they did say Q1 2008. They also said beta would be early fall."

well if release is going to be on spring 08, the open beta should be late Q4 07,which means that closed beta has to last about 4 months or so, with different stages, soo, id say beta should start in early-mid summer
