Whats everyones opinion of this game, how many here will be playing it, how does it compare to AoC????

Im not sure if I'll be playing, since it comes out 2 months after AoC I dont think I'll be up for another subscription game.... I think it looks alright, a little toony but still ok, but I think it'll have some serious faction imbalances....any thoughts?

Never played DAoC, but I hear the RVR pvp was really good, which is what I am looking forward to. As far as the toony graphics go, I will play chaos or one of the greenskins, they didn't seem very cartoonish. I have seen a lot of people claiming that the Order will have the higher population, but I would not be surprised if Destruction did... It seems a lot of people really want to play the chaos.

I really could not see order having a higher population. Dwarves are usually always the most underplayed races in any game ( I think the dwarven slayer shoulda been added at launch to help this race out), I think the dwarves are gonna have their capital city raided quite often. Chaos will definitely be a huge draw, they just all look badass. I think the only order class thats looks cool (and going by looks because thats all we really have to go on) is witch hunter. I could see a serious imbalance of witch hunters on the order side.

This is true of dwarves, however, these are some of the more interesting dwarf classes I have seen. I think some of them will have a big draw because they are somewhat different, not to mention easy to learn from what everyone is saying. And don't forget the lure of elves to all the teeny-boppers (no offense to you guys who are teens; teeny-boppers IMO only refers to a certain dermographic of teens). The human classes are pretty interesting IMO as well, except for the KotBS.

Von is right though, Chaos will be a huge draw because of their looks. Not to mention I think a lot of hardcore WHFB players will play Chaos. I predict that the sides will be pretty even with perhaps a slight edge to Destruction.

As far as the game looking "toony," I don't think it looks near as toony as WoW. The humans and Chaos look quite true to life IMO. The dwarves look more like I think they're supposed to compared to WoW. The only really toony races being greenskins IMO, but since they're the farthest in looks from humans, people tend to think of them as looking "cartoony" (elves = skinny humans, dwarves = short, stout humans, and Chaos = humans/heavily armoured humans).

As far as it being compared to AoC, I have not read much about it. I know that the race selection is much more limited in AoC. And though the graphics are good, something about them just doesn't appeal to me. Plus I have followed the WH universe for about 15 years so I am very interested in its history and relationships between the races and factions and think it could lend itself to lots of expansions and new content. Needless to say, I have no interest in AoC but am eagerly awaiting WAR.

well both sides have elves, so i guess which elves will be more appealing could be a major draw to either order or destruction.

after seeing the half naked dark elf in the WAR cinematic trailer I think that will be enough to get the "teeny-boppers" into playing one.

I will be playing WAR, but I can't say if it's better than AoC because I don't know anything about AoC. Personally there is something about being outnumbered and fighting for good that just sparks my interest =D. That said, I don't think there will be any imbalance to the sides, they did a great job on making the destruction look totally sweet.

Are you kidding? Ever since Drizzt, Dark Elves have been popular in every game.

take a look at aoc, you might like what you see. And does it matter if one or the other is better? I hope both WAR and AoC are both great games. theres only one thing better than one good game, and thats two good games.
