[WAR]Some quick info on mounts

Cavalry and mounted characters have always been a big part of Warhammer. In WAR, PCs will be able to use mounts to travel around the game world. The only confirmed mount seen at this point is a Giant Wolf, which will presumably be the mount for Goblin characters. Other mount possibilities include War Boars for Orcs, Cold Ones for Dark Elves and various types of steed and warhorse for the Empire, Chaos and High Elf armies.

It is thought unlikely that PCs will be able to use flying mounts (such as Griffons or Wyverns), but it has been confirmed that NPC special characters will be seen in the game mounted on flying creatures.

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, it is thought that WAR will allow PCs to use mounts in combat. Specifically, Paul Barnett commented that both Knight of the Blazing Sun and Chosen careers will be able to fight strongly "with their feet off the ground".

I wish goblins would have gotten spiders instead, but I think those are specifically for forest goblins. Oh well ... boars for orcs and cold ones for DEs is awesome.

that sounds pretty cool

I hope that Chaos Chosen will get to have a huge warhorse decked out in heavy armor

That would be a menacing sight for the enemy haha.

I know that paul said somewhere that dwafs can't attack while mounted cause there is some kind of honor thing with them...

yeah mounted combat is wat im hoping greatly for, mounts are just a given like in most MMO's of the time

I would -love- mounted combat. Its one thing all the MMO's ive played so far are missing. Also, flying mounts of some sort (not sure if it fits in with the lore or not though) would be wicked.

Hmm would be cool, but difficult to get the balance right i.e. Balancing the speed boost gained with something else, perhaps power or attack speed so WAR doesnt turn into a totally mounted war.

Mutated thinga majigs for marauders?
