What is with gamers these days
http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=35692&highlight=Warhammer
After reading this thread has the level of maturity really gone down in gamers these days. I can see that people want to promote their game they are going to be in to see it does well. Man do we really need to bash other people for the games they play. To me its like if one does not do so great so what. I for one want the best for both means more competition and that means better games and increasing the mmo market. Maybe I should just stop reading forums now they are giving me one of those " humanity is doomed" headaches. ![]()

The problem also is, as I see it, that the older we get (as more mature gamers) the more we see younger people come to these types of games who have never really played before. You see a lot of line toting and different people bashing things and you just join it. It's almost like a mob mentality for some part. It just so happens that a lot of people who lead this mob are obsessed with bashing other games in some sense of loyalty. It's almost as if to play another game is to be a traitor. I've always found this to be a very strange thing but different online communities act in very different ways. Some of the games I've played have been all about loyalty to the game. Others have been more about having fun. In either case you tend to get one group who is very vocal and another group(s) that just don't want to be bothered getting into an online fight with them.
Zeetchmen has it right when he says it's like sports team fans. You have some people that like watching a sport and for some other people that team is their life, hope, and dreams. It's usually the later that are the loudest ones cheering and see other teams as enemies rather than just competitors in a game. |

Aside from our guild thread there, I don't visit those forums. It's not because I don't want to read, but it's because of all the bashing and not just that of WAR. But, basically bashing everything about everything.

Conundrum. The word of the day
|
I think people just should let people play what they play and at least try the otergames. Me gonna buy AoC even if I know that I will play War. I wannna see the conan.
It's same in all things not just gaming. Some people just have to say how things should be and not hearing the otherside. I guess people are just like that in every game. I hope that they are all lovely games and hope we as legion of steel will have a fun time playing them and making each and every game a good guild or a group. *nod* |

I think that it is really just that everyone in those forums has ant in their pants...the vets are tired of the newbies talking about the same few things over and over...I think once the game actually comes out and people know what it is like, those that like it will stay and those who don't will leave...apparently this guy is the latter
