Hmm.

He sounds as if he has few goals, someone who's life life has only fleeting meaning and is are more or less confused and depressed. Perhaps his only WAR experiances have been with his own ego, that has somehow babysat him through his loveless gaming infancy, and has managed to convince himself that it’s his buddy, a partner in self-realization.

Well that is somewhat dissalluring but I suppose there must be that "one guy" who is disgruntled in a MMORPG community... But already? Hmm well the sooner I get in beta the better than I can see "the good the bad and the ugly" for myself

Did seam abit bias i could imagine my mate writing something simulair if the game hasnt gone his way in some shape or form or a lack of help form a gm

he may have issues with the game being banned he must of done somthing wrong, but saying that he did state about hoping the game was fixed before release alot of times

Honestly, I don't go off what others say because everyone has their own opinions. If I did that then I would probably never watch another movie again.

He compared WAR to WoW a LOT which to me shows that his experience in the gaming industry while claiming to be vast is not nearly as in depth as he states. Yes I will concede that WoW is a very polished game, but then so is a brand new katana blade when you buy it. The functionality of the product is what matters, not the polish coating it.

Well not in the beta (shake fist) but it seems to me this guy is pulling a resident evil is racist and mass sex effect thing i remember reading from a link on these forums to attract attention and yes the things he is saying do sound as if they are from early beta.

However, he did adress a few of my doubts like RvR being ridiculously imbalanced in terms of numbers and whether anything would be done to fix it (whatever happened to Dogs of War?), seems the same moves are bein spammed in the movies and from a recent movie a way to slow down a guy so he cant just run off seems to be absent (though for all i know it isnt). Still i gotta say i aint excited about WAR as i was a year n half ago, though alot of that has to do with the guild beta crap but ill reserve my judgement till later on....

His article is certainly more than disheartening, but I just have to believe that all the effort Mythic has put int it, as well as all of the information they have given us is worth a bit more than one angry kid's rant.

If you could make it past all the childish comments, it was actually an interesting read.

For someone who isn't in the beta, it gave an opinion that was different from the norm. When I read the newsletter every month, when i check out a new article from TenTonHammer or MMOGames or wherever, when I see a new video I hadn't seen before, its always the same - how good it is, how good its going to be etc.

Now I'm not saying that it's going to put me off the game or anything, but it did give feedback to some of the topics that have been very one-sided.

For example: Public quests. These have always fascinated me and I cant wait to try them, and this article mentions how boring they can be. We've been shown the "Example" PQs before such as the Squigs/Giant/Bomb/Dwarf door PQ or the dwarf cannon/orc lord PQ which look great, but I suppose they're designed to in order to show off how great they are. This guy talking about killing mobs, then the wizard, then an ogre just demonstrates to me that not all of them are going to have the same amount of effort put into them.

Anyway, like I said, reading between the lines and it makes an interesting read.

These types of rants should always be taking with a grain of salt. Obviously he didn't like the game, but do you see rants about how good the game is? One of the comments posted about this said something about beta phase 1 and 2 which was quite a while ago. I bet the early beta will not reflect the game in it's current state at all, compared to its present standings.

He was banned, right? That right there is enough to make a 12 year old kid angry and upset. He alluded to having a copious amount of experience but it seems as though WoW is his only comparison.

It comes down to comparing WoW which has been out for several years, that also happens to be the poster-child of the MMO industry, to a game that's still in beta phase and is focused on a completely different aspect (RvR) of the genre.

Look at the source and information and you might find something well off the mark of ones previous conceptions. I won't deny all negative swats against WAR, but I will damn well make up my own mind when the game is released.
