Vivox: the new way for in-game voice?

In my wanderings I stumbled across vivox:

Vivox: The Voice of Virtual Worlds - Integrated Voice Chat for Online Games

Apparently it's a company that is in the busness of providing an interegrated voice-comms to players in-game. No Vent/TS.

Apparently they've already been integrated into EVE (anyone playing EVE use it?) and EQ2 just anounced they will be using it as well.

Give it all a read. Is this they way voice is going in MMO's?

yeah eve used it. called eve voice. It never really worked good for me. laggy as hell and poor quality. I prefer ventrilo or teamspeak everyday of the week

I really have had no troubles with vent, and I plan on sticking with it.

Like Coolwhip said, what's wrong with Vent? Unless Vivox is offering something better, I don't see why it's worth it to switch for guilds.

yeah its a nice idea but as other people of said its laggy as hell and not really usable in quick reaction pvp sticking to vent or ts ftw tbh

it might get better in the future though so dont totally write it off
