The Lich King Expansion is just further proof of how Blizzard is deviating from the way I used to admire them.

I'm sorry but Illidan should not be on farm status...but it happened...ok he wasn't really the main character so I'll let that go.

Arthas shouldn't be on farm status either, but I imagine he will be. It's just wrong, there's a certain amount of hype in the back of your mind that knows that Arthas is just that bad-ass that he can't be killed. When you take away that background part of him and make him just another raid boss you lose essentially the "drama" of the whole storyline.

That ain't my only gripe though.

Only releasing ONE FUCKING hero class? Well done Blizzard, EPIC FAIL.

Now every Tom, Dick, & Harry that has a level 55 (not hard) is going to re-roll Death Knight and will name their Death Knight with every variation of the aforementioned Raid Boss of WotLK (Arthas).

Also, the fact that you don't actually have to work at getting the class, just roll anything...get to 55 and bam.

Maybe if Blizzard had done some actual work and figure out that HERO CLASSES are a higher archetype of classes.

I could see Shaman turning into *Hero* Totem Chiefs.
I could see Mages turning into *Hero* Archmages
I could see Warriors turning into *Hero* Blademasters.
I could see Paladins turning into *Hero* Death Knights
Etc etc etc.

Essentially take any of the Hero's from WC3 and there ya go, that's your hero class. Not fucking hard blizzard. By releasing ONE hero class your going to inundate the whole fucking game with one hero class.

It should have been a prestige thing, level your character to max...set out on an epic class quest to turn yourself into a hero class. (Non-reversible).

I hope they are working harder on Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 because I'm not impressed with the "work" they are doing on WotLK. Maybe it's time to ration out the Milky Ways and Pepsi Max to the WoW Dev Team eh Blizzard? I think the sugar induced comas are starting to fuck with their minds.

What makes it worse is that 10 man groups will be able to down Arthas, granted the loot will be much worse than the 25 man version. The whole epic feel of raids is really going away. When it took 40 people to down Nef or Rag it really felt epic, but killing Illidan with 25? gimme a break.

This is where i'll have to disagree. Remember when alliance could get Shaman and horde could get Paladins? Everyone said that alliance would roll nothing but shaman and horde would roll nothing but Paladins. But look at shaman now, lowest played class in the game i believe. what happened to most people is they got one or the other to 40 and just went back to their mains. I think the same thing will happen with DK's.

Here i disagree again. You know how difficult it would be to balance the game with double the classes(assuming a new hero class for each existing class?). That seems more like a project for a WoW 2 rather than an x-pack. And with the leveling, are you really complaining that you won't have to level DK from 1 to 80? I do think their should be some quest-line to unlock it, but who knows what may happen.

Idk if Blizz went back on this or if no one looked this up but there is a quest line to get the DK unlocked. You need a lvl 80 and then after you make the DK he starts out at lvl 50 or something.

But in my opinion Blizz has been lazy with x-pacs. BC we saw no new classes and only two races. We saw that they are punching so many holes in the lore to make things work they are pretty much running outa room. And they made epic chars on farm status i.e. Illidan.

In WotLK we can already see the lazy seeping through. Only 1 new Hero Class, something they promised on day 1 to be part of the game and its not impressive. It shouldnt be that hard to make at least another one. If they wanted this game to be that great they woulda made the push for it. And the lore behind the new DK's are ridiculous. They say the reason anyone can be a DK is because this is a new "generation" of them. The first were the souls of orcs put into human bodies. The second was Pallys who turned evil. The third will be those who broke from the Lich Kings will. Right there I can say WTF. How can 1 person do that? How fucking strong is that 1 guy who can do that and why wait till now.

That big chunk of rambling ^ is only about the Death Knights and I could keep going but for the sake of anyone reading this ill let it go there.

Have you ever played a Shaman pre-bc and then during bc? Shaman are not even close to how they used to be. Shaman got shafted hard, they went from one of the strongest classes in the game, to chain heal 1000x resto robot. That's the reason Shaman are one of the lowest played classes in the game. For the record, no one said it was going to be all paladins and shamans, the worry was that anyone who rerolls would only become the new race as a shaman or paladin.

The Death Knight however is completely different, it's a hero class, it's "special" and everyone is going to want to be "special" too. Blizzard said there would be hero classes with release, they promised us hero classes with the first patch, they promised us hero classes for the expansion, and now the second expansion is coming out and we get hero CLASS. Unless this "hero" class is terrible, and somehow completely fails at PvP and PvE then I guarantee you will see a HUGE shift in class population.

Actually this is a chance for Blizzard to actually get a semblance of balance to their game at the highest level of play. Having hero classes would enable all sorts of options to change things around, get away from the terrible class system they currently have. Also, hero classes were supposed to be upgrades from the current classes, so there would be no double amount of classes, anyone with half a brain would upgrade to their "hero" form. Not to mention becoming a hero class would change the classes archetype, so it could still be based of a tighter version of rock paper scissor.
