I went and saw this yesterday, a friend of mine suggested it saying "it got great reviews"

I went in with no expectations, because I didnt know anything about the story or history of it, etc.

IMO, overall the film left me going "ohhh kaaayy" It felt like a bad mix of some old murder mystery movie mixed with a wanna be sin city feel with a plot line..no line isnt the right word...more of a random hop scotch game with the way it jumped all over the place. Im not one of those people that easily gets lost with complicated plots or anything but that one left me with a lot of unanswered questions.

The old 40s murder mystery feel was done nice, there was a nice mood captured. The acting was good, and some of the lines were great. Maybe it just wasnt my style of film or something, but I almost dozed off a couple of times.

I would suggest renting it if you think you already want to see it, unless you REALLY like the old style films, and want to see one mixed with modern film styles, but one thats not done very well as far as the entertainment factor goes.
