Another thing that makes Kubrick a better director is that he made his movies for himself and didn't cater to the largest demographic like Spielberg does. Just look at some of Kubrick's films, Clockwork Orange, Shinning, Eyes Wide Shut, Full Metal Jacket, Barry Lyndon, 2001: A Space Odyssey, the list goes on and on and each one is either completely ground breaking, was controversial in some way, or ignored the what the general public wanted.

The we are talking Big production, with the "best" of the 60`s actors,
etc. And that was a zeer expensive production.. So, he has been there aswell.
One Stanley Kubrick friend, Roman Polanski made this movie
and Stanley Kubrick liked all his films, including this..

Well not his family but his girlfriend. Shortly after her murder was when Polanski drugged and rapped that teenage actress and why he isn't aloud back in the US. He is a great director though, if you can get over the rape.

A friend of mine hates Woody Allen films because he married his adopted stepdaughter but loves Polanski, kind of weird.

Take about the Devil: Here is why, if you dont know the story about
Charles Manson and why he killed of his wife/girlfriend, will check about the family, but I belive you.

Charles Mason was a hippi guru, and a racist. With a lots of followers. From the beatles song Helter Skelter, he did get a vision that there was gonna be a rase war between the blacks, white people. The blacks was gonna win the war, but acording to him the Black are so stupid as a rase, that they did need him as a leader. So, he was waiting and waiting. Until he get that "bright" idee to speed up the prosess. So, his followers killed of Polanski`s girlfriend/wife, in a zeeeeeer brutal way. Lots of writing on the wall in blood etc.. But, he did go to the wrong house, not sure who he inteded to kill..

Yeah, 9th Gate is a great film. I don't think I have seen a Polanski film that I didn't like. I have seen parts of The Tenant but not the entire thing, want to just can't find it in video stores.

And now that you mention it, the Manson victom could have been his wife, I'm not 100% on it. I did know that Manson sent his followers to the wrong house though. The rape was rape no matter how you look at it, the girl was like 14 at the time, so even if she was like "Hey lets get it on" it would have been statutory.

I thought the 9th Gate was pretty good too. Didn't hear about it until a couple years ago.
