one thing that i noticed n i disliked was that suddenly there are terrorists in iron man, the reason he built his suit was to battle crime n such not because terrorists captured him, otherwise the movie looks like its just gonna be like another version of spiderman imo, guy gets super powers, meets girl, girl thinks hes an asshole coz he allways dissapears when hes off fighting crime, girl finds out who he is, girl gets kidnapped by baddie etc.

so true, do you think comics that are being made into movies have killed off fan base for the comics? in my opinion movie makers are not doing comics justice to have the same plain story as the rest of them while the comics have been going strong for a long time now and still have a good audience.

Yep, coz 100% of the time the movie producers change things from the comics/cartoons when creating the movie things that are sometimes essential, (transformers movie for example had more people than transformers and 3/4 of the transformers had like one line.....), things that are just plain stupid (making spiderman emo cmon in the comics the ratio of time spent drop kicking villains to chucking a sad were 500:1 & the whole terrorist thing in Iron Man). Furthermore some details which make the comic unique are often left out.

I thought that Iron Man trailer was one of the funnier things I've seen lately.
When Iron Man starts playing when he knocks down the door=priceless
Outrunning the jet planes was also pretty hilarious

IMO the best trailer so far:
http://media.movies.ign.com/media/03...d_2304485.html

Sorry, but I have to disagree wth you there. For several reasons...
First, and yeah it is a petty point but still fairly important IMHO, there are no super powers involved. On top of that Iron Man isn't exactly a "coming of age" story like Spider Man. Stark doesn't start out as a nobody, he starts as an extremely successful owner of an advanced weapons manufacturing company.
Oh and the love interest in this movie appears to be his personal assistant (gwyneth paltrow).

Secondly, I was skeptical, as you are, about how he builds the suit in the first place. However after brushing up a bit on my Iron Man origins...he was actually captured and ordered to build weapons by some type of foreign adversary...it seems to have been updated on several occasions to be current with the times. It seems to me as though they, simply, just did that again.

The best part of this movie for me however...was that they started the big VFX action shots long before they started shooting the movie. Basically an industry first, considering they hadn't even cast the lead role yet. Therefore the VFX artists could take their time and do it right instead of being rushed cramped between filming and release deadlines. Yay, John Favreau!

Not only that but it actually looks really, really funny. And to me they couldn't have found anyone better than RDjr to play that role, his delivery is great.

The Trailer looks amazing imo

Christine Everheart: Mr. Stark, you've been called the Da Vinci of our time; what do you say to that?
Tony Stark: Absolutely ridiculous, I don't paint.
Christine Everheart: What do you say to your other nickname, the 'Merchant of Death'?
Tony Stark: That's not bad.

Whats not to love?

I'm liking it. A marvel movie with a little more edge than most.

I'm sort of a sucker for these comic flicks so I'll see it for sure. This one actually looks pretty darn good though.
