Narnia

Is anyone else as excited about the May 16th release of the next Narnia Chronicles installment called Prince Caspian??

This is MY favourite fantasy series as a child and it still is.

I don't remember anything about a character named Prince Caspian back when I read the stories as a kid. He a new character?

The books are great but I found the first movie to be rather awful. The child actors were just terrible, especially little Lucy.

I see that all of them are back for Prince Caspian, so I do not hold out much hope for it.

Prince Caspian is actually Book 4 of the 7. They have skipped A Horse and His Boy so I think they will combine the plots. I always loved the fact that I read The Magician's Nephew before reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. All my little friends hadn't and so they didn't know the story of WHY the wardrobe was magic in the first place.....it was awesome.

I recommed the seven Chronicles even to adults to read.....puts friggin Harry Potter to shame. It has a lot in common with LOTR because they were both written around the same time and were both responses to WWII, war and valour in general, ethics and post-traumatic stress syndrom or the consequences of having to fight for what you believe in....

Incidentally, I really enjoyed the first one. It was epic and sweeping and weird and ornately magical.

How could you not love it?
Tilda Swindon was the PERFECT Ice Queen and some of the best CG and prosthetic make up done. I can't find a pic of the end battle.
Possibly belongs in thread of last movie but I thought it relevant.

Funny he says that...

I just read all the books and practically had to hit myself over the head to keep reading.. Anyways, I am excited because I LOVE the movies, but I'm sad they have skipped a total of 2 books so far in the series.
