Local Bands You Support (not safe for work)
Just curious if you guys have local bands you support...maybe a link to their website, myspace, or whatever. May be a good way to find out what is happening around the world with local bands.
A few I support off the top of my head: Straight Line Stitch: The singer has a awsome voice and when she is not screaming she is singing and its actually soothing. Plus she is really hot in person...dunno something about a girl in dreads with tats on stage screaming at you. .....don't judge me. http://www.myspace.com/straightlinestitch Their Video Released not to long ago: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...7-323926001ff0 VileJive: Funk Mixed with metal...Oh yeah it may take some getting used to if you never heard this type of music before but its pretty good I like it. The singer of this band is very talented, he also is in 2 other bands which are pretty successful and has been signed by...well indie labels but it takes a lot of work to run 3 bands and he interacts with the crowd very well. His other two bands which I like P.Y.L.O.T and Six Good Years they are their friends if you want to check them out. If you want a humorous song listen to all that she wants. When they do Tool covers though they blow your mind its crazy how accurate they are. http://www.myspace.com/vilejive And old video and not very high quality (actually its pretty shitty) but you can get an idea this is one of my favorite songs especially for playing games...Wish they had it on Myspace so you could get the full experience. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6ImuXKJfs8 MSD: This band used to be all about Halloween movies and did some wicked work. I have all their old cd's if anyone wants to listen to them I can get you some songs because their old songs are far far the best that I have heard in awhile...they would compete with actual signed bands...In fact they had offers from roadrunner, sony, and others...They work at a Ford Factory and do local shows instead I guess they are content. Really down to earth guys I talk to some of the guys cus we used to set up for them and record videos. This new stuff that is on their Myspace is a lot different from their older stuff but it is because John is a found Christian .....long story short in case. They used to do some pretty halloweenish stuff to meet their sound for their shows now its about what you see (they only play their old stuff at halloween). I wouldn't say their new stuff is not good because if you like a band you follow them to the end...It is just different. Their closet song on the list to their old stuff is Face the gray...probably because it is considered an older song. In fact I would recommend listening to that song first. But if you want to hear some kick ass music send a private message and I will get you some older songs, probably the biggest following I have seen since Mushroomhead with their old music. http://www.myspace.com/msdspace http://www.entermsd.com Hanover: A pretty cooky band the reason is cus the singer puts on a nice stage present and interacts with the crowd, I like their style. I highly recommend Drown (no screaming) http://www.myspace.com/rockhanover Innerblue: This band is decent, the singers voice is unique...but the real reason I like this band is cus the drummer Rachel is HOT.. I recommend Blackencide http://www.myspace.com/innerblue The Middle Fork: Just think of an acid trip on steroids.....if you like techno...metal...uhm NIN on shrooms with a dash of acid...they may take some getting used to but they have an interesting beat and it is catchy you will catch yourself humming it at some point. I recommend RV Migration. http://www.myspace.com/themiddlefork http://www.themiddlefork.com *Work Safe* The Dear Hunter: Last but not least The Dear Hunter. They are not local but I love this band and I don't think they are very well known other than in one of my fav US cities Boston. They are more tame and probably the calmest of all of my list. I don't know how to describe this music I may be a metal head in the majority of my picks but this band is another direction of rock I follow. I discovered them in Boston on my way to see Atreyu...yeah I know right. http://www.myspace.com/thedearhunter http://www.thedearhunter.com/ Well this is all I am going to list for now. Don't want to keep going cus I could prob go on for a little while longer. Hope you guys enjoy, can't wait to see what you guys post and what is out there to discover. |

Wooot! I'm amazed that we have another Dear Hunter supporter in LoS! I'm a big fan of Atreyu and have also seen them in concert (San Diego, SOMA). They rep the Dear Hunter a lot and my brother was a big fan of TDH.
As for me, Destroy The Runner - You should check them out if you are a fan of Hardcore / Metal. They are an amazing local band (now growing in popularity) and are fast-paced with amazing chorus. http://www.myspace.com/destroytherunner
