My first Drum Recital
Been playing for a little over 1.5 months. Feed back is appreciated. I know towards the end i fell out of the pocket a bit and a couple of the fills were a little sloppy. But feel free to give input, can't become a better drummer without feedback =)
*edit* btw, the awesome cinematography is by monkey =) Last edited by FluffyBunni; 04-20-2008 at 12:28 AM. |

Hey man, ive played drums for about, 1-2 years and never really got into them nor was i any good. But if your doin that much after only 1.5 months then this is something you should be doing lol. Only advice i got is try to add some more fills in there. You did a great job keeping the beat imo, but dont be afraid to move around the set more.
Keep up the good work till then. =D

Hey, a fellow drummer! Try hitting the bass without lifting your whole leg up, it seems to throw off your timing sometimes. If you can double without your knee coming up, you'll find it alot easier.
You can build speed in your hands/wrists by practicing on something without alot of bounce like a pillow. I found this warm up really helpful when i was trying to build speed on the snare. I hope it isn't too confusing. Pretty good... I'm not a drummer but been playing music for 8 years now so I have a tad experience. Your steady beat is very impressive I must say just a couple slight things that really just take time; 1) use the high hat a bit more 2) vary up the rythms a bit though I understand you were playing to a tune anyway. Very nice though, also some fun things to do is get a cow bell...it can get pretty fun and intense with some well placed cow bell hits.
Overall very impressive, make sure you learn more than one style of drumming especially traditional/ marching in order to master the basics. |
