Local Bands
I searched and didn't find one so i thought I'd make a thread dedicated to local bands. I wanted to see what the local bands sound like from around the country. So post your favorite local bands here. This is The Jericho Machine from the Rio Grand Vally of south Texas and my favorite song they play is Mosquito Hunting.
MySpace.com - The Jericho Machine - RGV, Texas - Rock - www.myspace.com/thejerichomachine

Knoxville, TN here. We have a lot of good talent. I am very involved and enthusiastic about music, and especially local scenes. Just a sample of what its like:
Everwaste: MySpace.com - EverWaste (pending)Has speakers for sale 250$ - KNOXVILLE, Tennessee - Rock / Alternative / Progressive - www.myspace.com/everwaste Home is probably one of their best songs. Copper: This band has made it big time MySpace.com - COPPER (Broken Sky on iTunes Now) - Knoxville, Tennessee - Rock / Alternative / Indie - www.myspace.com/copper All of their songs are good imo, but I like By Now and Turn the best. If you haven't Heard of 10 Years check them out also, They are one of the biggest bands to make it from Knoxville. AND for the showing of the hardcore side of Ktown (dont know if you like this type of music but w/e) Whitechapel: Freaking band that went from the lowest point in a music career to and amazing band that headliners want. MySpace.com - Whitechapel (NEW SONG UP, CD IN STORES NOW!) - Knoxville, Tennessee - Death Metal / Metal / Hardcore - www.myspace.com/whitechapel Favorite songs are Ear to Ear and The Somatic Defilement

Local Bands You Support (not safe for work)
An update on one of the bands in my first link, Straight Line Stitch they was recently signed and have a video on MTV Headbangers Ball YouTube - Straight Line Stitch "Black Veil" It is pretty cool to think I used to go to Mushroomhead concerts before they made it big when I went to high school in shaker heights cleveland.....I go to college and start going to these guys concerts and they both end up signed. I know how to pick em.

Three of the four people in this band McCloude and I went to high school with (Brooks, Steve, and Alex). They play in Baltimore all the time and are releasing their album at the end of August. I actually "forgot" about them until I heard them on a local radio station this weekend! (98 Rock) Velocimadsen might show off their talents best... or it's my personal favorite. Dunno! P.S.- Technically Good Charlotte is a "local" band too... they used to practice across the street from my house. Seriously, look in the insert in their first album- they thank Steve Sievers for use of his garage. Steve was our paperboy for years! Last edited by Annyah; 07-16-2008 at 08:11 PM. |

PYLOT was cool... too bad they are no more... and I figured SLS would get there...
MSD ([MSD|:|==[Face The Grey]) has went downhill since they started I think... sadly enough I do not follow local music anymore... I just kinda got out of it... mostly cause I dont listen to heavy music very much anymore. I still like it but I am extremely picky about it. Submethod and Look What I Did were pretty cool... they were from Nashville... Now the singer of Submethod formed The Human Abstract and is now signed and Look What I Did moved to Los Angeles. Those were pretty much the only local bands I ever got into...

Ok Atmosphere, Heiruspecs, and Brother Ali, and Mac Lethal
I don't have links atm. Its all 'light' rap. Midwest rap is way different than East/West coast. Although I like that stuff too. I could list more, I just recently went to a 9 hour concert of local rap bands, was pretty sweet. http://www.myspace.com/atmosphere http://www.myspace.com/heiruspecs Atmosphere is by far the most popular rap band in MN, heiruspecs is probably second most popular.
