Rockband 2 - The Drum Rocker

Never bought the first Rockband, though I play it quite often at my buds house. Any Rockband drum fanatics out there?

It's premiering for Xbox 360 this September, followed by PS3 and Wii later this year. But the one thing I wanted to point out in particular is the new drum set. There is the standard drum set that the producers of Rockband 2 are releasing, but then there is...

The Drum Rocker!!!!

Produced by Ion, an electronic drum set developer, the drum set is the definition of professional grade. You can even add drum brains and use the set as a real electronic drum set. Little on the pricey side ($300) but considering you can double it as an electronic drum set, I'm actually considering picking one up with RB2. It's pretty spiffy.

What do you guys think?

ok those are reaaaaaally supid all they did is take duplicates of yellow green and blue and put them a little farther away and up. You dont even have to use them! GH4 all the way

I'm something of a Rock Band fanatic...I've wound up with a sore ankle as I usually play through day-long drum sessions. :P

As for the kit, it looks great. Hopefully it will be cross-compatible with the new Guitar Hero. I guess I have to say goodbye to my custom-modded kit

I am so disagreeing with you on this....

First off, yea they do duplicate to make it a little bit easier for you. But also you can use those drums as REAL DRUMS. That is why they are so expensive.

Also GH4 has a lot of crappy songs announced so far.... and songs are the most important. So ROCK BAND 2 all the way =)....

I figured they would start blurring the line between a videogame drum set and an actual electronic drum set soon, heheh.

Its a pretty cool set, I just think the price is a little steep. Yeah I know with some modding you could rig it like an electronic set, but I'm not sure how good the quality is going to be compared to a real electronic drum set.

If your serious about learning actual drums and buying a set, i'm not sure this is the way to go. But if you have some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket and want the baddest rockband drums on the block that you could mod a little to get closer to real electronic drums; have fun

yeah its cool that you can use them as REAL drums but people are buying RockBand 2 just for the "Drum Rocker" the GH4 drums are really nice i like them but i wish that GH4 had as many songs as RockBand 2, freaking 500 in 2008 but whos going to buy that much dlc?
