I was thinking of buying this game. How does it play online? Is the community good andare the matches fair or completely unbalanced like if a noob were to try playing an online game in Warcraft 3?

Online matching is pretty fair, but I think it's the nature of the game that makes it tough on new players. It's a lot of mirco-management and mistakes are costly. And it's rather fast pace. But to me, I didn't find it as grossly unfair as Warcraft 3.

That's why I wish they'd just realize what the strengths of their game are and for the sequel eliminate crap like base building.

I also don't care of the balance of the game too much after playing the game for a while. I think the endgame too often just turns into armor. I'm waiting for a good mod that emphasizes infantry as the main force, with vehicles being more expensive and less in number, as it should be, with vehicles and such in support roles. With some new and interesting units, you could keep the excitement and dynamic nature of the game.

The modding stuff is still in the early stages, but there's already some promising stuff.

I went to the mall to go buy this game, and stupid me went with my girlfriend to the mall, she wanted to do all her shopping first, she was done then the mall was closing. No CoH for me... yet :'(

Try doing what I do, when I going shopping with the wife. Once she goes inside a store and starts looking around all I say is "I'll be right back and walk away before she says anything" works everytime.
