The X360 Controller

Now i just discovered this so if anyone beats me up about it, shove it

I've tested it via my laptop and i found i can play all these games with it.

Farcry, Quake 1/2/3/4, Doom 3, X3, Freelancer, HL 1&2, CS & CS:S, Garrymod, DOD.

Thats it so far but i was surprised that this thing even worked as a joystick controller into a computer, be curious to know what mmo's i can play with this thing.

From what i have heard your going to be able to play AoC with a 360 controller and i plan on trying it out.

Oh and how was it using it for CS ? any good ?

In the most recent AoC article by IGN they mention that since the game will be released on the 360 platform the controller will be fully compatible with the game. On course, that statement was only refering to the consule version of the game, however it does stand to reason that Funcom would include the controller interface in the PC version. That is by no means a guarantee, but it is more then likely.

i heard a rumor that Microsoft is making PC game developers add compatibility with the Xbox controller if they want the "Games for Windows" designation on their game. sounds pretty in-character for microsoft.

ive played Gears of War and Oblivion on the Xbox. the controller isnt bad, but the analog stick is MUCH slower for targetting and changing camera angles than a mouse would be. aside from that though, it's probably a bit easier and more comfortable in terms of using abilities and what-not, provided you don't run into limitations with the number of buttons available.

CS needs the mouse, but i combo'd the movement stick with the mouse and it works quite nicely.

I can live with 'slower' camera speeds, but attempting to manipulate a mouse, keyboard, WASD, Numpad, and other keymapping (ie. abilities/spells hotbars) at the same time is probably beyond the capabilities of my clumsy fingers

A keyboard, headset and controller sounds like a good alternative to me

the 360 has the best controller in the console market. The only types of games I don't like it on are fighting games, but there really haven't been many good fighters in years, so I suppose that's not missing much.

I agree with random, the 360 controller in my opinion is one of the best console controllers. It just fits so nicely in your hands while you play.

You can also play Rainbow 6 Vegas with it. And it makes sence that you can use the controler with comp games because the Xbox is made by Microsoft.

I plugged it in randomly man, i didnt even know it was made for that and then i started testing to see what it worked with.
